Scenographer Michel Cova of Ducks Scéno, working for the Philharmonie de Paris, describes how the large auditorium will be able to adapt physically and acoustically to different musical styles.

Right from the start, the project has named state-of-the-art acoustics among the Philharmonie’s priority requirements. This would allow high capacity seating (2,400 seats) in an “enveloping” room, and lead to a sense of intimacy between the performers and audience.
