1/100th scale model of the Philharmonie de Paris

Small scale, big project

Stephane Lévraud from Volume Architecture and visual artist Lucie Lelong have created models of the Philharmonie, its various parts and its location within the grounds. Here they explain how their reduced-scale models will be transplanted to life-size.

The sound model

A 1/10th scale model of the concert hall of the Philharmonie de Paris was built in 2008 to validate its acoustics for symphonic orchestras.

The wind model

A 1/175° model of the Philharmonie de Paris building was subjected to wind tunnel testing in order to guarantee the safety and comfort of its patrons and personnel.
