Two new cranes have joined the site to participate in the construction of the rest of the building in September 2011. They contribute to the building of the rehearsal spaces. Both cranes have been added to three other cranes that had already been mounted for the construction of the court and learning spaces: the highest of them is about 100 meters. Two new cranes will be installed by the end of 2011.
The company Solétanche, responsible for carrying out the piles of the entire project, had already made the piles of the court and learning spaces. In September, Solétanche realised all the piles beneath the rehearsal spaces. In October, the teams began to sink piles beneath the concert hall. Two drills have been added to the machine already present in order to complete this phase of the project.
The company Bouygues has flowed all the sails of the zone D (the contact point of the Philharmonic with the Porte de Pantin) and began the construction of spaces dedicated to the educational center and administrative services. All these areas form a long point that will allow spectators to reach the entrance of the concert hall from the Porte de Pantin. This path, gently sloping, consists of a slab elegy: a slab with cavities in order to reduce the weight and therefore the impact on the rest of the structure.
The project incorporates a complex system of ramps to enlarge the access to various facilities of the Parc de la Villette from the Porte de Pantin. Many of these ramps are already built. This is the case of the pedestrian ramp to the park and the ramp for cyclists to join the future parking for bicycles.
